 The Fare Quote Server (FQS) is an intelligent flight fare database which makes the fares calculated by GDSs and consolidators available in comparable form. It bundles identical queries into one GDS query, thus considerably reducing costs and facilitating an excellent look-to-book ratio. The user is provided with a uniform XML interface (web service) for all GDS functions, thanks to the functional unit formed by the FQS and the XX/1 multi-GDS transaction server. This permits the implementation of interfaces with completely new functions that go far beyond the current standard. |

Functionality |
 The FQS functions as an intelligent module in the PASS Travel Technology Suite. The fare information supplied by the multi-GDS-enabled transaction server XX/1 is processed by the FQS on the basis of stored rules. GDS fares that have already been queried are stored and updated. The FQS recognizes multiple queries of the same fares by the travel agent and processes them immediately. This minimizes the number of billable fare queries to the GDSs. |
